What Is a Study Booth?
A study booth is a freestanding, soundproofed room you drop into a library, a common area, a hallway alcove, or a classroom that already exists. Acoustic walls, a glass door, ventilation, lighting, and power are all built in, so it works the moment it is plugged into a standard outlet.
Because the booth rolls on casters and never attaches to the building, it counts as furniture rather than construction. That is what makes it possible to add real quiet mid-term: no construction, no contractors in the building during class time, and no capital project to get through a board. When enrolment shifts or the space gets reconfigured, the booth moves with it.
Six Ways Schools Actually Use Them
Most schools start with one booth for the loudest problem, then add more once staff and students start asking where the next one is going.
Silent Solo Study
A genuine quiet room for exam prep and deep reading, in a library where every table fills up and none of them are actually silent.
Group Project Rooms
Four to eight students can talk at a normal volume without disturbing anyone, and without booking a room three days ahead.
Sensory-Friendly Retreats
For students who get overwhelmed by a noisy room, a calm space to self-regulate and re-focus without leaving the building.
Faculty and Staff Calls
Somewhere to take a call, join a committee meeting, or record a lecture, in departments where offices are shared or open-plan.
Confidential Student Meetings
Advising, counselling intake, and accessibility conversations stay private, while the glass door keeps clear sightlines for safeguarding.
Online Classes and Interviews
Grad interviews, remote seminars, and language labs where background noise ruins the recording and the student's concentration.

When the Room Is the Obstacle, a Quiet Room Is the Answer.
For students who get overwhelmed by a noisy classroom, the room itself becomes the obstacle to learning. One School Global wanted a calmer, sensory-friendly space where those students could settle and re-focus without leaving the building.
The Collaborative Work Booth gave them a dedicated quiet room inside the school. A student can step away from the noise, regulate, and come back ready to learn. What changed is not the furniture. It is that the school now supports more kinds of learners under one roof.
Which Model Fits Which Space
Every model is also available in an ADA-compliant version. Quotes are in Canadian dollars and include education pricing from the first unit.

How It Gets Approved
A Quote You Can Forward
You do not need spending authority to ask for pricing. Your quote arrives as a clean pack with pricing, certifications, and spec sheets, ready to hand to a principal, dean, facilities director, or board.
Purchase Orders Welcome
We work with purchase orders and invoice-based purchasing, and quote in three tiers, frames only, assembly, or turnkey, so finance can pick the structure that fits. Leasing and financing are both available.
Installed Around Your Calendar
Lead time on new orders runs roughly two to three weeks and your quote names the dispatch date. Assembly takes 2β4 hours per booth, so we schedule it for a PA day or a break.
Questions From Schools and Campuses
Do we need a building permit to add study booths to a school?
In most municipalities, no. Study booths are modular furniture on industrial casters, not permanent construction, so they typically do not need the permits a walled-in room would. We include the classification details in your quote so your facilities team can confirm with the local authority quickly.
Can staff still supervise students inside the booth?
Yes. The full glass door keeps clear sightlines into the room, so a student stays visible to staff while getting the quiet they need. You get safeguarding and acoustic privacy at the same time.
Is there an accessible option?
Yes. Every model is available in an ADA-compliant version with a wider door and turning clearance inside, including a Collaborative Mini for tighter floor plates. Tell us the space and we will quote the accessible configuration alongside the standard one.
Will it hold up in a busy student environment?
These are commercial-grade acoustic rooms built for daily use in high-traffic spaces like libraries, classrooms, and student services. Coverage is four years on the structural frame and panels, three years on acoustic components and seals, and two years on electrical and hardware, with parts and labour both covered for the first 12 months.
What does our facilities team need for fire safety sign-off?
Every education quote includes electrical certifications, fire test documentation, and GREENGUARD Gold certification. There is no sprinkler head or alarm device inside, and none is needed, because the open-bottom design means the booth is never sealed to the ceiling and building-wide systems stay effective. We are glad to work directly with your inspector.
How does education pricing work?
Every education quote includes education pricing starting from the first unit, and the discount deepens as the number of rooms goes up. Delivery is priced honestly by distance and unit weight. Because volume and location both move the number, we price each school individually rather than publishing one figure. Ask for pricing on your full plan and we will show you where it lands.
What does it need for power and ventilation?
One standard 120V / 15A outlet. No electrician, no dedicated circuit, no rewiring. Ventilation runs on a near-silent fan that cycles fresh air continuously, and inside you get AC plus USB-A and USB-C outlets along with dimmable LED lighting.
Can we move a booth to another room or campus later?
Yes. Booths weigh roughly 750 to 1,300 lbs depending on the model and roll on industrial casters, so a booth can be repositioned within a floor or relocated to a different building when the space gets reconfigured.
