A statement from Quiet Cabins, issued somewhat reluctantly.
For years, we had a very clear plan. We build commercial-grade acoustic booths for offices, universities, and healthcare teams. We talk about things like fit-outs, procurement cycles, and fiscal year-end budgets. We were happy. We were focused. We were NOT in the business of putting a booth in your spare bedroom.
And then you all started calling.
How it started
It began innocently enough. Someone would reach out about a booth for their office, and somewhere around minute four of the call, the truth would come out: "So... this is actually for my house."
We would gently explain that our booths are built for commercial spaces and priced accordingly. They would gently explain that they have three kids, a dog with opinions, a partner who takes calls on speaker, and a Zoom meeting with their VP in eleven minutes.
We would say "we understand." They would say "do you though?"
We did not.
How it was going
Then it was ten calls a week. Then it was more. Remote workers. Podcasters. Therapists running sessions from home. Day traders who cannot be heard yelling at the market. Students. One gentleman who simply wanted a place to eat chips without anyone asking for some.
Every single one of them said some version of the same thing: "I love it. I just can't justify a commercial price tag for my house."
Which, frankly, is a very reasonable point. We hate it when customers make reasonable points.
So we caved
We held out as long as we could. We had meetings about it. We had meetings about the meetings. Eventually the inbox won, as it always does.
So here it is, against our better judgment and entirely because you asked too many times: the SoundBox Home Pod.

It is a soundproof pod designed for the home. It is built to give you a quiet, private place to work, call, record, or simply hide. And it comes in at $7,000 CAD, a price point that our commercial line had absolutely no intention of meeting until you all wore us down.
Who the Home Pod is for
- Anyone who works from home and has said "sorry, you're on mute" more than three times in one day
- Parents who need one closed door that actually means something
- Creators who are tired of recording podcasts in a closet full of winter coats
- Professionals who take confidential calls and would prefer the household not hear them
- Home buyers who are adding a home office to the wish list and want one that doesn't require a renovation
Who it is not for
If you are outfitting an entire office floor, a university library, or a hospital wing, please do not buy twenty Home Pods. Call us. We have a whole commercial line that has been feeling very left out lately and would love the attention.
Our official complaint
We want it on the record that we did not plan this. We did not want to be the people who make your home office quieter. We simply wanted to keep doing commercial projects in peace.
But you were persistent. And polite. And annoyingly correct about the price.
So fine. You win. Enjoy your quiet.
Get one before the people who called before you do
If you have been one of the many, many people asking about a booth for your home, this is your moment. Reach out to our team at info@quietcabins.ca or call 437-476-4169 and we will walk you through sizing, delivery, and setup.
We will even pretend we were excited about it the whole time.
— The Quiet Cabins team (who are, admittedly, a little excited about it)
